Besides the traditional restaurants like Casa Botín and Casa Lucio, which are always a Must due to its history, quality and traditional atmosphere, here’s short selection of the restaurant that I consider TOP regarding the few factors that you described: excellent food, culinary experience and special setting due to different factors that makes it different to other type of experiences you may find in other cities/countries.
Restaurante Diverxo – NH Eurobuilding, Calle de Padre Damián, 23, 28036 Madrid – Tel:915 70 07 66- http://diverxo.com/
This is the restaurant run by 1-Michelin Star, Chef David Muñoz, probably the youngest and most mediatic chef in Spain at the moment. Quite disruptive in all senses, visiting his restaurant is a complete experience from the moment you step in the venue.
He is married to TV celebrity Cristina Pedroche, which has also pushed the restaurant fame beyond to the international arena. Irreverent, very origina, distinct, and totally disruptive.
The image of the place, webpage and gastronomic proposals creates a huge impact in the visitors eyes. Very modern and different from the rest.
This one I have picked it up for you despite the fact its location is in the outskirts of Madrid, the reason being, the interesting proposal they offer their visitors. The concept is a gastronomic trip through four different lounges where you will learn and tastes the influences of a Cellar, a Kitchen, a Hall and a Lounge.
It is a very particular proposal, that I thought you would enjoy.
Transfer can be easily arrange to go there. It takes around 30 minutes.
Another traditional option with an uncomparable location at the heart of the city in a Beaux Arts beautiful building. Used for high end celebrations and banquets it has a room for menú degustation of traditionsl spanish and international dishes. The room is quite something and so is the flambouyant decorations with frescos of the high ceilings from the 19th century.
One of the concept restaurants that is hip at the moment. Located very close to the Archaeological museum and Serrano Street where most of the fancy high end fashion trade marks have their sales points.
